Introduction

Hello! My name is Kelsey Nudd and I am currently a sophomore at Saint Michaels College, double majoring in Secondary Education and Mathematics and minoring in Religious Studies. I was born and raised in Duxbury, MA.
I am a huge animal lover, skier, and theater enthusiast. I have grown up with dogs and horses around me at all times and ever since fifth grade, I have been on the stage. Through my theater experience, I have had the one in a life time opportunity to preform on a professional stage in Boston for the METG High School Festival Finals in 2015 and 2016.
I first knew that I loved math was when I was in seventh grade and was in a pre-algebra class. Ever since then, math had been my favorite class and my saving grace in high school. I always had a feeling in me that I wanted to be a teacher, but I never knew what I wanted to teach until my junior year of high school. My junior and senior year math teacher inspired me to then become a math teacher. Her enthusiasm, spirit, sarcasm, and love for math and her students inspires me and drives me forward so I can be that same inspiration for someone else.
Through my education classes at Saint Michaels College, my love for education has grown and I am very excited for my future endeavors in teaching. I am excited for my school placements through the education department at Saint Michaels and for being a full time teacher after graduation.

  1. When I was younger I was super involved in theater too! Being on stage is such a rush, and a lot of people don't understand just how tiresome it can be at times. I feel like we all had that one teacher in high school that was our own secret motivator for us; who defined who we were, and who we wanted to model after. That's great that your math teacher was so influential for you.
